Kinnu Malhi

Founder & CEO

Kinnu is a dedicated educator with a strong passion for supporting children with autism and diverse learning needs. She brings 11+ years of experience and 8 years as an Education Assistant in the Burnaby School District, where she has supported students in communication, emotional regulation, behaviour strategies, social development, and inclusive classroom learning.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of British Columbia and has completed her Orton-Gillingham literacy training, and ECE certification, equipping her with a strong foundation in child development, early learning, and evidence-informed teaching practices.

Throughout her years in the school district and the community, Kinnu has gained extensive hands-on experience working closely with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Her work has been grounded in compassion, collaboration, and a belief in every child’s potential.

Her vision for VanCity Social Learners Academy is to create a space where children with autism can learn, build confidence, develop lifelong skills, and feel safe and supported every step of the way.

Equally important to her is supporting parents through their journey and building a warm, trusting, inclusive community where families feel understood, empowered, and connected.
