Welcome to VanCity Social Learners. My Name is Kinnu, I grew up in Oliver B.C. otherwise known as the Okanagan. I spent majority of my years in a small but beautiful little town. My journey has brought me over to the beautiful city of Vancouver B.C. I have been living here for the last seven years. I am the oldest of my siblings and cousins, I grew up watching them grow and always playing a motherly role that came naturally. Since then I have known that working with children is what I truly want to pursue as my career. Over the years I have studied at UBC Okanagan, where I would graduate with my degree in Psychology. Later, I would branch off into the teaching field. I have been an Education Assistant working with special needs and neuro-typical children for the last 7 years. Along with being an EA, I privately work with kids as a respite worker teaching life skills. I have over 10 years of experience working with children. I used to run after school programs in Surrey B.C. where we worked on various activities like cooking/baking, employment programs, basic life skills, and health and wellness. Over the years, I have gained tremendous amounts of knowledge and experience. The most important part of all is the connections I made with students, families, and the community over the years. The unexpected amount of love I have received from the children and families I work with is what truly drives me to do better and keep growing.

Welcome to VanCity Social Learners. My name is Sabrina Barn. I was Born in the UK and moved to Canada at twenty years old. I am a proud mother of two wonderful teens who make me proud every day. I enjoy cooking, going for walks around the beautiful city of Burnaby and socializing with my friends. I have been working with children for over 12 years. I have experience working with children of all abilities including Autism, ADHD and physical challenges. I have worked in clinical settings, home settings and in school settings. In previous years,  I was an art instructor for Young Rembrandts where I was running art camps for children. Along with a Behaviour interventionist, respite worker and an education assistant. I am currently an employee of the Burnaby School district as an education assistant and work privately with families as a behavior interventionist and respite worker. I am lucky to say that I enjoy going to work every day.
